Belgium, including regular travel to Amsterdam, The Netherlands.


What this job is all about!

The New Business Manager is responsible for developing and implementing new merchant business in Belgium and  achieving net revenue targets through direct selling initiatives of the merchant payment processing services of EMS and through managing partner sales. The primary merchant target group are Small and Medium sized Enterprises (merchants) in Belgium.

Getting the right things done!

  • Grow revenue and secure business profits through successful B2B selling and distribution channel (partner) management.
  • Present and sell company products, services and solutions to current and potential customers and partners. This includes coordination of all aspects of the sales cycle, as required: (technical) sales support, project management, sales bids and contracts.
  • Drive aggressively incremental revenue and profits.
  • Map the benefits of our customer and partner solution to the customer’s and partner’s business requirements.
  • Establish a clear, well thought out target list of desired merchant profiles and segments based on strategy/ target sectors and product advancement as agreed with the Sales Manager Belgium.
  • Source potential new business by means of following up on leads from various sources, cold calling, referrals, networking and use of other techniques available.
  • Collect, capture, analyze, use and report data in an accurate and effective manner, using it to identify customer and partner needs, develop sales opportunities and add to business growth.
  • Provide status reports: activity, closings follow-up and adherence to goals as required by management.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to service, providing a consistent, positive and effective sales experience in a manner that reflects EMS values.
  • Work closely with the Partnership, Marketing and Operations departments to gain specific support.
  • Follow closely trends and new product functionalities in the payments industry.

EMS Belgium is active since November 2014. The enthusiastic and ambitious team consists off a Country Manager, five experienced New Business Managers and one Sales Support manager; all eager to make EMS Belgium very successful and to ensure customer satisfaction!


We would like you to have! 

  • Minimum Bachelor degree;
  • Minimum 5 years successful B2B Sales experience, preferably in Financial services or Telecom;
  • A good understanding of the card acquiring business and its commercial needs is an asset as well as a good understanding of the Online payment industry, Merchant and Payment Service Providers;
  • Sales & result driven; proven track record in achieving targets;
  • Experienced negotiator with excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Client and quality focused, able to sell value to our clients;
  • Self-motivated individual with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to achieve targets;
  • Positive, pro-active and a hands-on mentality;
  • Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills;
  • Advanced computer literacy; especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch, French and English, additional languages are preferred.
