Senior KYC Specialist

What this job is all about

As KYC Analyst you will:

Identification and verification of the client by collecting, processing detailed (legal, financial) documents and information;
Doing research; assess (complex) merchant structures and provide an overview of ownership and management structure;
Perform KYC checks: screening for politically engaged persons, sanctions and adverse media involvement in anti-money laundering, bribery, fraud;

As Subject Matter Expert you will:

Participate in KYC related projects for further professionalization of the 1st Line;
Act as point of contact for complicated cases within the organization;

As Coach for the team you will:

Assigning cases to analysts and ensuring they are closed in time;
Provides guidance to the Team;
Ensures that their knowledge, skills and talents are further developed;
Holds weekly 1:1’s with team members;
Provides input for year-end conversations;
Approves vacation requests and WFO days of team;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and drive efficiency as a team;
Identify and escalate any issues or risks that require further supervision or assistance from the Manager and Senior Management;
Coach (junior) team members, ensure quality of work and stimulate them to develop and improve themselves;

You will report to the Manager KYC & Monitoring and work closely together with your 18 KYC colleagues. The professional team members work closely together and challenge each other on an ongoing basis. EMS offers a dynamic, professional, informal environment and short lines of communication.

What do you bring to the table?

What do you need to be successful at our organization? Well, you have to enjoy changing gears quickly and getting your teeth into complex projects.

In addition, we ask for the following:

Energetic, positive minded team player, focused on cooperation and sharing knowledge; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to create and maintain a large trusted network at all levels within the organization;
Good understanding of requirement engineering; knowledge/affinity of IT architecture, API’s and/or programming languages is preferred;
At least several years’ experience as Product Owner or Business Analyst, experience within the Payments industry and more specifically eCom preferred;
A Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or equivalent;
At least five years’ experience in a similar role within financial services;
Extensive knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations (such as Wft, Wwft and Sanctions Law) and able to analyze and interpret how they could impact EMS;
Strong analytical and investigation skills;
Result driven and able to coordinate a team from Senior perspective;
Determined, well-structured and highly accurate;
Relevant professional certification like ACAMS, NIBE-SVV, NCI is a nice to have;
Excellent - verbal and written – communication skills in English, Dutch and French are a plus.
