What this job is all about!

The Head of Corporate Sales leads a team of 6 New Business Corporate Sales Managers, responsible for growing revenue and securing business profits through successful B2B selling of our Payment Solutions across the verticals Retail, Travel (Airlines & OTA’s), Leisure (Hotels & Restaurants), Gambling, and Public Transport.

The Head of Corporate Sales is responsible for defining and executing the Sales Team’s strategy to achieve the annual Sales targets, realizing international growth. 


Getting the right things done!

  • Lead, coach, support, motivate and develop the New Business Corporate Sales Team, currently 6 FTE.
  • Lead by example, joining Sales Managers to important meetings with large prospects.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies, forecasts & sales opportunity plans to grow company market share and profit.
  • Investigate market opportunities, identify customer requirements, build relationships and represents EMS externally.
  • Deliver quantitative and qualitative (department) reports on periodical and ad hoc basis.
  • Closely follow internal and external developments, share and advise from own expertise.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of department processes, systems, procedures and instruments, leading to more efficiency and to more effective ways to work.
  • Build, maintain and influence a network of internal and external stakeholders, including our shareholder ABN AMRO, with whom you’ll have frequent interaction about cross-selling EMS services to their customer base.
  • Work closely with internal departments to provide and coordinate service and new product initiatives to Merchants. Areas include, but not limited to Product Development, Risk, Operations, Legal and Sales.
  • Initiate and participate in projects. Monitor realization of project goals.
  • Report to the Chief Commercial Officer and be part of the Commercial Leadership Team.


We would like you to have!

  • Minimum of 7 years of New Business Development experience, preferably but not necessarily in the online payment industry;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a B2B sales team;
  • Strong commercial background, proven sales ability including pricing, relationship building and consultative selling;
  • Learning and knowing the dynamics and trends of the market segment and translating that knowledge into an effective, profitable sales strategy;
  • Proven ability to generate new business and effectively qualify opportunities by building strong relationships with Merchants;
  • Proven experience in leading the negotiation of complex contractual arrangements;
  • Strong, inspiring personality with proven leadership skills;
  • Strong commercial sales focus – with high level of business acumen and judgment;
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with C-level executives;
  • Strongly focused to make deals and to execute them;
  • A quantitative mindset, and experience with making your team successful through using CRM (Experience in working with Salesforce is a plus);
  • Ability to articulate complex issues clearly to internal management, internal departments and Clients;
  • Independent, result orientated, creative thinker with hands-on mentality;
  • Able to demonstrate personal excellence and to reach and exceed aggressive sales targets;
  • Strong personal work ethic and motivation for both personal and company success;
  • Team player, motivating others through authentic leadership;
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, additional languages are an advantage;
  • Completed Bachelor or Master degree.
